ABOUT US

Hello, we are Miguel and Eva. We live in Spain, has 15 kms aeroport of Vigo, area of Galicia which is in the North-West of Spain, pretty place to visit within an incomparable place as is the " Ria de Vigo" and its Cíes Islands, pertaining to the national park "ATLANTIQUES ISLANDS". Impassioned by nature, and particularly by a race of cats very special as is the " skogkatt" , as it was called in its origin in the Scandinavian countries, or as we know it here, cat of the Forest of Norway or Norwegian of the Forest. After years we decided that we want to coexist with these cats, and we start to visit with several breeders before deciding to us by whom it is today the chief of the house " IRRESISTIBLE Of ZARINA".

Spent two years and by acquiring experiment in cat shows in Spain as in other countries and at the same time while contacting with breeders of this race and trying to learn the best and the more possible, we decided that we could already seek a Femelle to begin breeding. The result of gained experience, a long wait & planned research, was arrival at our house of " VALKEANA´S ALABAMA" which reach our best hopes, originating of France, the breeding VALKEANA´S of which we underline the good to make in the breeding responsible in time as breeders for this race.

By seeking a new line not known at Spain and after follow much time the breeding of RESTLESS( Sweden), we waited a litter which can join best the things of this breeding. Not possible a best results with RESTLESS SYRIANA, which became Junior Winner (" JW") in time record, in 5 shows she made 5 bis, and with some results more, she reach the number 1 of the ranking " SKOGKATT OF THE YEAR" 2007, Europe ranking of Norwegian forest cats !!!

We remenber much Syriana, lost for a disease. Always present, also in its descendents, like GIC VESTVEGR-ES* BONNIE TYLER JW, Syriana´s dauhgter at our house,which followed the way of her mother, with also impressive results.

Our thanks has Ulrica and Lars, of the breeding " RESTLESS" to let go so far with its baby and from entrusts in us.

Once more, has wanted research a cat outside Spain, the research a pedigree which could give good size and a strong bones, and if the color could be silver, join together a series of difficult things has finds. lately in France has finds Jose Berman and Muriel breeding F* Forest cat. The result precisely seeks, DIORISSIMO, an enormous male that with 2 years 6 months arrives to 8,5 kg., and the quality of its color silver, so difficult to finds. also superb results in cat shows, he reach the titles DVM & DSM.

Also our special thanks to Edith and Carlos, of the breeding " JAKOBUSLAND" , by its help to research and its Councils for the responsible breeding , and also to a big list of friends who share with us this criterion.

THE BREEDING

objective we seek of this race is follow the standard and contribute to maintain with this race free of hereditary diseases, like GSD IV, HCM, PKD and others, testing the cats with test available for this purpose, by resulting a large cat, healthy, with wild aspect, but at the same time with a special character, which does it the best companion at the house, with the children or same the dogs, without forgetting that this majestic cat was called like the cat-dog by its behavior and attachment with which they share their life.

VESTVEGR

the election of the name of our breeding " VESTVEGR" (affix number 1864), while being translated VEST=WEST, VEGR=WAY, " means; "way of west " was chosen by the old relation which existed between the Scandinavian countries & Galicia,' where this race of cats comes.. At the beginning, in time of the Vikings, Vestvegr was the way that those used in their incursions of conquest of the Atlantic territories, while arriving at Galicia for the first time year 844 D.C. After this first contact, others to him three followed, while finishing in the 1038 D.C in their attempts at conquest of these territories, while practically coinciding with the conversion of the Scandinavian countries to the Christian religion, by converting the " Vestvegr" like the road of pilgrimage towards " JAKOBSLAND" or ground of Santiago, current Galicia, where according to this tradition this apostle was buried. Here are has there much time there was already a relation between Scandinavian & Galicia and countries, although before its intentions are of conquest with invasions, now we let ourselves conquer by these special cats without opposing resistance.
